So you want to be a photographer?

Cameras are expensive.  Classes are really expensive.  Good news: Chase Jarvis, Uber-photographer has helped spearhead a new program to help bring knowledge to the masses.  The classes are streamed live, are free, and be downloaded (extra cost), and puts you in contact with some of the finest talents in the arts today.  CreativeLive also features classes featuring Adobe, iPad and iPod development, fine art, and other forms of art.  Take a look!

Adios Facebook

Doggies with luggage

Let me tell you why…

Short Answer: I just don’t care about you anymore, Facebook,  and consider you much more of a liability than an asset.

Long Answer:  This can be best summed up by the following short, true, experiences I’ve had through Facebook over the last 18 months (of my 5 years of usage):

1.  Old highschool roommate (who I hadn’t heard from since highschool) sent picture of ultrasound of unborn, out-of-wedlock child to everyone on his friends list.  Also sent an address to where we can send “gifts and/or cash.”  Haven’t heard from him since.

2.  Former school teacher  was one of many people who thought it would be a great idea to use Facebook to try to get me involved in a pyramid scheme.

3.  I have no interest in Farmville, Mafia, or any other game.  No, am I interested in seeing you, or the hundreds of updates that these games pump out as self promotion.  At least the kids playing World of Warcraft keep to themselves…

Finally, to be clear, it’s not about “getting off the grid” or any other way to counter mainstream.  This is about simplification.  If you really want to “friend me” why not talk to me, you know, like the good old days?  Maybe we’ll make plans?  Live in another state?  No prob!  Well we can write! Talk on the phone!  Hell, shoot me a txt.  The basis of maintaining relationships is communication, big or small.  Lets try it, eh?

-Jim

This is one of those Good New Bad News situations…

Heya… In an effort to tweak Neurotrust.com one more time, I managed to break it. In the words of Dr. Kelso, “Tough titties, Turkelton.” That’s why you see nothing. I’m slowly putting things back together. The good news is, the lay out you see is likely the final foundation for the site. I still need to add a couple finishin touches, but that will happen soon enough. Thanks for the patience!
