Ben Folds did a great cover of the late Elliott Smith’s “Say Yes.” While every cover continues to amaze me, this one struck a personal tone. Do yourself a favor and check out the page.
In Case You Missed It: Limp Bizkit Cancels US Tour Citing Need to See More “Fans Going Bananas”
If you’re the guy that’s been waiting for the Limp Bizkit comeback tour (I’m talking to you, New Jersey), you’re gonna have to wait a little longer. Fred Durst stated the reason for the cancellations was because they were booked into the wrong types of venues. ”Basically, Limp is not an amphitheater band,” he said. “We like to see less seats in front of the stage and more floor filled with fans going bananas. It’s just more fun for all of us that way. Some bands are meant to be seen mainly sitting down, but definitely NOT Limp Bizkit.”
Of course, others are speculating that the band may have had trouble filling the larger spaces, and the move is more economically minded. But, to suggest such a thing, would be bananas.

Hiatus over…
Hey, I’m back.
Quick note: Since LaLa was purchased by Apple, who in turn, decided to shutter the cloud music service, I can no longer provide my Music Mondays in the same fashion as before. So until I find a new way to share, I’ve got to put a hold on Music Mondays. Hopefully, not for very long.
In the meantime, I will be uploading various other music-type things from around the interwebs that I find amusing… Enjoy!

Music Monday- The Airborne Toxic Event
Today’s Music Monday entry is an album I’ve been listening to for about 18 months… It’s solid all the way through, and worth a listen. Lately, it’s gotten some commercial play, which is a little jarring, but nice. Give it a shot.
Is Everyone taking Crazy Pills?!? Shatner and Lin Duet
I’ve always liked the Shatner. I’m no Sci-fi fan, but, for some reason, he cracks me up. It probably started with his album “Has Been.”
Then I saw this. Now William Shatner will have a special place in my heart forever. No idea why.
Let’s not forget Lin Yu Chun, the karaoke ice cream man. If this were pro wrestling, they’d be holding big gold belts.
George Lopez, you may have earned yourself a new fan.

Music Monday: “Boxer” – The National
This week’s Music Monday selection is an old favorite: The National’s Boxer. The mood is very “I’ll never live up to the expectations of the ones I love,” while being articulate enough not to let the music be sluggish. Don’t miss these tracks: Fake Empire, Ada (which features Sufjan Stevens), and Slow Show (My favorite). A solid album as a whole.
Music Monday!!
This is certainly not a new album, but it’s still a fantastic one. I’ll be enjoying it as the Cubs kick-off their first home game of the season. Plus, you’ve got to like anyone who can use another artist’s lyrics as an homage, without blatantly ripping them off (see “High Lonesome”).
