In Case You Missed It: Limp Bizkit Cancels US Tour Citing Need to See More “Fans Going Bananas”

Limp Bizkit

If you’re the guy that’s been waiting for the Limp Bizkit comeback tour (I’m talking to you, New Jersey), you’re gonna have to wait a little longer.  Fred Durst stated the reason for the cancellations was because they were booked into the wrong types of venues.  ”Basically, Limp is not an amphitheater band,” he said. “We like to see less seats in front of the stage and more floor filled with fans going bananas.  It’s just more fun for all of us that way. Some bands are meant to be seen mainly sitting down, but definitely NOT Limp Bizkit.”

Of course, others are speculating that the band may have had trouble filling the larger spaces, and the move is more economically minded.  But, to suggest such a thing, would be bananas.

Hiatus over…

Hey, I’m back.

Quick note:  Since LaLa was purchased by Apple, who in turn, decided to shutter the cloud music service, I can no longer provide my Music Mondays in the same fashion as before.  So until I find a new way to share, I’ve got to put a hold on Music Mondays.  Hopefully, not for very long. :)  In the meantime, I will be uploading various other music-type things from around the interwebs that I find amusing…   Enjoy!

Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox to play for Crosstown Cup – ESPN Chicago

I love the idea that there’s a trophy for this six-game series now.  I don’t know why… I guess I like the fact that, regardless of who wins, its a Chicago thing.  A fun addition for fans of baseball.

Adios Facebook

Doggies with luggage

Let me tell you why…

Short Answer: I just don’t care about you anymore, Facebook,  and consider you much more of a liability than an asset.

Long Answer:  This can be best summed up by the following short, true, experiences I’ve had through Facebook over the last 18 months (of my 5 years of usage):

1.  Old highschool roommate (who I hadn’t heard from since highschool) sent picture of ultrasound of unborn, out-of-wedlock child to everyone on his friends list.  Also sent an address to where we can send “gifts and/or cash.”  Haven’t heard from him since.

2.  Former school teacher  was one of many people who thought it would be a great idea to use Facebook to try to get me involved in a pyramid scheme.

3.  I have no interest in Farmville, Mafia, or any other game.  No, am I interested in seeing you, or the hundreds of updates that these games pump out as self promotion.  At least the kids playing World of Warcraft keep to themselves…

Finally, to be clear, it’s not about “getting off the grid” or any other way to counter mainstream.  This is about simplification.  If you really want to “friend me” why not talk to me, you know, like the good old days?  Maybe we’ll make plans?  Live in another state?  No prob!  Well we can write! Talk on the phone!  Hell, shoot me a txt.  The basis of maintaining relationships is communication, big or small.  Lets try it, eh?
